Matcha Mia!

Matcha Mia!

Matcha isn't just that trendy latte you saw someone famous drink or talk about. It's something that not only tastes great, but its' added benefits tie into something we all can aid from.

Matcha first originated in East Asia as a green tea plant that later transformed into a ceremonial drink of tradition. Matcha drinkers today have taken that a step further and transformed it into a beneficial addition to their everyday routine. Including me!

Coffee used to be a huge part of my day..like huge! Overtime it became like a bad habit I couldn't let go of. The love was there but no added benefits, not even an energy boost with all the added caffeine we know coffee to have. I was sluggish, tired, and overall needed something to bring me more energy throughout the day. So, that's when I tried matcha.

Matcha created that energizer boost I needed in the morning, midday, or even to get me through a long night. But that wasn't the only thing it brought me. See the list below on how adding matcha into your everyday diet can prolong good health and add overall value to your body:

Contains Antioxidants & Anti-inflammatories (Secure your body and protect against free radicals - *these antioxidants also aid in more energy vs. your average cup of joe in the morning)

Protects brain functionality (Studies show green tea helps combat stress and overall brain disorders that trigger learning, memory, movement, etc.)

Combats depression (Studies state 51% of those who drink 4 cups or more a day have lower chances of depression symptoms.. drink up!)

Aids in Male Fertility (Yes! Studies show men who drink Matcha more regularly than those who do not have a higher sperm count)

With all those great added benefits, I know you're ready to run out and get yourself some matcha to start your day off right. Well, we have you covered with our Homemade Matcha Lemonade recipe. See our recipe below and tell us how you like it!

Homemade Matcha Lemonade

Ingredients:
5 lemons, 1/3 cup of organic honey, 4 cups of Alkaline water, 1 tbsp of Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder, Ice (if preferred)

Steps:
1. Blend honey and the squeezed juice from lemons in a blender until mixed.
2. Add water into a pitcher and mix in the honey lemon mixture until blended fully.
3. Pour a cup of lemonade with 1 tbsp of Matcha powder and mix thoroughly (I use a shaker).
4. Pour over ice or simply enjoy!

Note: A great way to spice this up is to add sparkling water on days you need a little extra zing!
