What's Tea?: Respect your Elder... Berries

What's Tea?: Respect your Elder... Berries

Fire? Check. Hot Chocolate? Check. Blanket? Check. Immunity?

We’ll check that off now.

With the weather changing and Flu season in full effect, our bodies must stay full of immune fighting properties. One item I keep in my possession during this time and all year around is elderberry. While this flower and berry is unknown to most, it brings a huge advantage to keeping our immune system ready.

Lately, I’ve been steeping Tazo’s Elderberry Blackberry Tea and it has been anything but disappointing. This tea is filled with chamomile flowers, blackberry juice, hibiscus flowers, and most importantly elderberries. Elderberries are filled with antioxidants and vitamins that boost your immune system. It also happens to be one of nature’s most resourceful solutions for many ailments since 400 BC. See below for wellness facts and where to find elderberry near you:

Used to Treat:

  • Joint/Muscle Pain
  • Infections affecting breathing
  • Fever/Headaches
  • Stress
  • Minor skin conditions

The Facts:

  • Helps fight Cancer
  • Supports immune system (especially if taken when cold/flu symptoms begin)
  • Protects against UV radiation
  • Has antidepressant properties (literally makes you feel good!)

Where to Find:

  • Local Market/Farmer’s Market or Wellness store

Try taking a tsp. of elderberry a day or taking pure elderberry products like teas, juices, or everyday gummies and see improvement in your everyday health. Also, look to try our recipe with this Tazo tea below:
