I don't do drama, I do nails

Self care is important in all aspects. One of the first things we see with people are their hands.

Are they painted? Are they healthy? Are they soft?

We then question ourselves on how we care for our nails and how we keep them healthy and groomed to perfection. 

So what should we be doing to keep our nails healthy? See below for all the tips and tricks on creating healthy nail habits.

 

1. Keep your hands clean! Washing your hands and exfoliating off dirt and dead skin helps keep your nails and hands soft and dirt free.

2. Clip your nails regularly. Whether at a salon or at home, clipping your nails every two weeks keeps them healthy and growing.

3. File your nails. Keep your nail edges even so you don't have snagging and brittle nails.

4. Make sure your local nail salon or your own nail grooming tools are clean. You want to always keep your nails from infections or bad bacteria.

5. Take care of your cuticles. This is the barrier and base of your nails. (A favorite oil treatment we like to use is the dream oil by Youth to the People.)*

6. Use good nail polish and products. Many nail polishes use toxic chemicals that can break down your nails and barrier. Use good products to protect your nails at all cost.
